Looking for Online Courses? At ICON+ we offer all our Courses in-Centre and Online.

Advanced Placement Tests Exams are standardized exams designed to measure how well a student has mastered the content and skills of a specific AP course. Taking AP Courses can help students demonstrate additional academic acumen, boost their chances of admission to US universities and offer them university credits for certain courses.

We offer flexible, personalized coaching for AP students in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Calculus, Psychology, Comparative Government and Politics, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.

AP Exams are open-book and open-notes. However, students are not allowed to consult another individual during the exam. This year, students will be able to take exams on any device they have access to—computer, tablet, or smartphone. They will be able to either type and upload their responses or write responses by hand and submit a photo via their cell phone.

  • Most exams will have one or two free-response questions, and each question is timed separately. Students will need to write and submit their responses within the allotted time for each question.
  • For most subjects, the exams will be 45 minutes long, and include an additional 5 minutes for uploading. Students will need to access the online testing system 30 minutes early to get set up.
  • Students taking AP world language and culture exams will complete two spoken tasks consistent with free-response questions three and four on the current AP Exam; written responses will not be required. More details will be provided in the coming weeks to help students prepare.

When are the AP Exams available?

Exams will be given from May 11 through May 22. Make-up test dates will be available for each subject from June 1 through June 5.

Where can I take the Exams?

You can take the exam at home or in schools, if they reopen.

Can I choose the date for my subject’s exam?

No. Subject-specific exam times and tasks are available below. Each subject’s exam will be taken on the same day at the same time, worldwide.

Who scores my exams and when will my results be available?

AP Exams are graded by a network of college faculty and AP readers. Scoring is done on a 1-5 scale.
Results are expected to be released by July.

What’s a good AP score?

Most US universities accept scores of 4-5 for university credit. 3 might be accepted by easier universities. The number of credits awarded differs by college, but typically, students are awarded more credits for Calculus BC than for Calculus AB, etc.

Can I bring a calculator with me to the exam?

On 2020 AP Exams that may involve calculations (including some STEM and economics courses), questions are designed such that required calculations can be done with a pencil and paper, with no calculator (including one with graphical or statistical capabilities) required. However, use of a calculator is allowed and may be helpful. Simple (“four-function”) calculators are freely available as apps for computers and phones (i.e., most or all internet-connected devices), and can be installed beforehand for use on the exam.
