How long is the test?
The ACT test takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete, including a short break (or just over 4 hours if you are taking the ACT Plus Writing).
The ACT allots:
- 45 minutes for a 75-question English section
- 60 minutes for a 60-question Mathematics section
- 35 minutes for a 40-question Reading section
- 35 minutes for a 40-question Science section
- 30 minutes for an optional Writing section
