- Know Why
Why do you want to go to business school? And in particular, why do you want to go to the schools you are applying to? You must be able to answer these two questions clearly. Start by reviewing business school websites to determine which school is best for you. There is a great deal of information online that can help you narrow down your choices. Based on the information you gather about the school, carefully consider why you would be a good candidate and tailor your essay accordingly. - Be Yourself
Your essay will be better if you write about a genuine and honest experience. Take some time before you write your essays to determine what makes you different from other applicants. Examine your past experiences and background, then brainstorm and carefully list not just work experiences, but also obstacles you have overcome, issues that are important to you, accomplishments and leadership experiences. This list will provide you with the material to write an essay that reflects your true experiences and potential! - Be Specific
Don’t generalize. The admissions committee wants to know about you and what makes you different! Provide specific and vivid details about your experiences. This not only makes the essay more interesting to read but also shows what makes you unique.
