The good part about GMAT is that you don't have to be an Einstein to ace it. The not so good part is that there are no shortcuts for success in this test, other than hard work, hard work and more hard work. Sitting down with your high school math and grammar textbooks isn't the solution. GMAT tests you in very specific areas. This is where I found ICON+'s coaching to be invaluable. The seven-week course was exhaustive, yet highly focused on the areas that are tested in the GMAT. Then there was this really vast online question bank that had enough number of questions to ensure that I never fell short of questions to practice, right till the day I took my test. And I can't wrap this without paying tribute to my instructor during the course. She was just too good. I couldn't have asked for someone more composed, patient and amiable.
